They both hand-knitted some of the garments that make up Gabriela Hearst&#8217;s current collection. I also want to say that craftsmanship is such an important skill to protect and keep fostering. So, I\u2019d like to thank Manos del Uruguay for their persistence and perseverance in such an incredible organization\u00bb, said Gabriela Hearst.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Bergdorf Goodman&#8217;s head of retail, Yumi Shin, expressed her pleasure at partnering with the Uruguayan designer and the artisans of Manos del Uruguay, whom she described as &#8220;brilliant&#8221;. \u00abThis work reflected our shared belief in the importance of conscious and sustainable luxury\u00bb, she said. Manos del Uruguay was founded in 1968 with the mission of providing women in Uruguay&#8217;s rural communities economic independence through the use of traditional ancestral skills.
